P.O.W.E.R. stands for Protection Oriented Women’s Efficient Response. This class is designed specifically for women who want to learn some simple, effective self defense skills. No prior training or experience is required. This is an ongoing program, with a structured curriculum that will teach you how to deal with some of the most common situations that women are likely to be confronted with in an assault, both standing and on the ground. Based upon the principles of Gracie Jiu-jitsu, you will learn simple, leverage-based techniques that will give you the best chance to survive a violent encounter with a larger, stronger attacker.
In this course, you will:
-learn common sense safety & situational awareness strategies
-learn how to use positional control to survive even in the worst positions
-learn fundamental striking & grappling techniques and escapes
-develop reflex and muscle memory through repeated training to be able to perform under stress
